And a Great Time
Was Had by All!!!!!
Red Rock Ride -- What Is That?
Honda
Gold Wings riding and sightseeing in the mountains, deserts, and red rock
country of northern Arizona, that's the Red Rock Ride!!! During the past several years a number of folks/friends
that hang-out on one of the major Gold Wing forums
(http://www.gl1800riders.com) have gathered at various locations around the
country to meet others from the forum, hang-out and have a good time in the
evenings, and do some great riding in various parts of the country. From
Washington to Tennessee and Georgia, from Wisconsin to Texas, from New York to
Florida, and at locations in between, several forum members have stepped-up to
organize some great gatherings for their forum friends. Bulldog's
Cats-Cade gathering sorta topped them at
the time, but well, that's the way Bulldog does things (and he's doing it once
again in 2009 after skipping 2008). Since many folks
wanted to meet some of their friends in Colorado WingNutZZ stepped-up to the
plate and organized
Rockies-Gold in 2007 (summer) and 2008 (spring) to do some riding in the
Colorado Rockies and the canyon country of western Colorado. Taking a
break from Colorado in 2009, the next Rockies-Gold will probably be held in the
fall of 2010. So, leave it to these Gold Wing riders to come up with
another plan for 2009...............
Jetdr and several of the other Arizona riders decided to fill
the gap with a gathering of Gold Wings in the mountains of northern Arizona --
Prescott, here we come!!! With lots of blue skies, warm days, and cool
nights, the mountains, deserts, and red rock country of northern Arizona will
provide some great riding and great sights. Plus, the small town
atmosphere of Prescott, along with some great restaurants, provides a great
location for hanging-out in the evenings. It should be a very good time! So, if you are interested in hanging with great folks and riding
some great roads, you must be at the Red Rock Ride.
South Rim Grand Canyon -- Sedona -- Oak Creek Canyon -- US-89a -- Jerome
-- Bagdad -- Yarnell Hill -- Montezuma Castle. And, perhaps the Salt River Canyon, Mt. Graham,
Old Tombstone, Coronado Trail, North Rim Grand Canyon, and more on the way to/from the gathering.
Note that many folks will arrive on Thursday, October 22nd, thus
allowing for two full days of riding on Friday and Saturday. Plus we will be having a Saturday Night get together with some
great prizes and jetdr is working on LIVE entertainment!!! Click on
the links at the top of the page to check it out and join us!
